Thanksgiving... people are home. All soaps were up except one and Days had the lowest group tuning in. Forgetting holiday cheer and focusing on a pairing is silly. Maggie was cooking Turkey. Christmas week will be ratings up too.

If ratings improved when my couple fucked like zombies and cried afterwards and showed every sign of not wanting to repeat it, I'm not sure I would consider that a positive thing. The writers, James and Ali all made it very plain that this was not to be considered a romantic encounter for EShami. People may indeed have no issue with watching EShami as a plot point to create more drama for more interesting couples and stories. We'll see what happens when it continues to be clear that the major fallout from this story relates to Will and that this is not at any time in the near future intended to be a way to put EShami together, particularly with EJ framing John still out there. Personally I do think the show is getting much more interesting in some areas, and at least we're past the Daniel egg-baby stuff for the most part. I actually plan to watch most of this week's shows, and I haven't done that in quite a while.
Anyway, the point being that since the writers feel that they're getting it across that EShami aren't in love with each other and that this was a horrid, nasty mistake, they can't be blamed for assuming that any improvement in viewership can be attributed to people being relieved that EShami, if they just have to share scenes, are unromantic. Why would they think that people are excited to see EShami mechanically screw and instantly regret it? It's not like EJ proposing to Sami and almost marrying her last summer did anything to interest the audience, and there was a LOT stronger possibility at the time that they could get past the Sydnapping. But either way, we'll see what happens as the weeks pass and the stories continue to build.

The ratings were better last week than the week before too. Overall, I find that the show has gotten beyond the boring first few weeks and things are picking up all around. This is wonderful. We NEED the show to keep getting higher ratings so that it stays on the air. These ratings are indicative that the show as a whole is getting better, which in my opinion, it is and we have some really interesting stuff coming up, with Will, the Alice/EJ mystery, Sami and EJ covering up their dirty deed, Jack's PTSD, Ejole growing closer, Abby potentially going all fatal attraction on Austin, Carrie and Rafe getting closer, Victor's involvement in Maggie's egg switching coming out, etc. There's lots of stories on the go that are creating good, soapy drama and that's desperately needed for viewer interest.

Not one pairing make or break the ratings. If the show overall is better then people are automatically going to watch regardless of who's sharing scenes with who.

I agree with all of you. I don't think that the smex brought up the ratings because people want to see them together. I think more people tuned in because they wanted to see wth was going on. Even me, who hates Ejami with a passion, watched that episode (although I did it online) just to see what it was all about. Anyways, I decided to post the latest ratings because I wanted my fellow Ejole's to be aware of all the BS that the Eshami's will make out of this.

Lulz. Trust me, I already know exactly what they'll say on every topic. Don't let it get to you.

Aren't these the ratings for the ENTIRE week?? Didn't we have a great EJOLE day on 11/22 when Nicole admitted she loved EJ couldn't you actually say that even though it was the week of smex...Nicole and EJ getting back together could have as easily increased ratings?!?
See how easily I can turn the ratings into our favor!! So I'm not going to buy into the hype that the Escami's will be spewing!

And honestly, the gains aren't really very spectacular at all. It was a sweeps week, some gains are expected.
