SOD 12/06 Co-Head Writers Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas Jr., address viewers' burning issues: -"Ejami" Sex: The charged encounter between EJ andS ami got viewers talking.Thomas offers, "The goal is to affect the fans. As long as we see these extreme reactions, we are affecting them emotionally. What we don't want is apathy. Whether they love it or hate it, whatever is going on, we want it to be extreme and we want it to be passionate." daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8609809/1/For those who said that MarDar wrote EShami nasties was all for pure shock value at the expense of characters and the audience intelligence was right. This is truly sad and I worry about the future of DAYS when it all becomes about shock value not about the characters and history. Isn't that what got Dena Higley fired? Am I missing something?

Wow sounds like they are trying to get fans pissed off. Not impressed. I thought we were promised more character driven drama, not more of DH's crappy plot point writing.

These writers just SUCK. Just because you get reactions from fans, does not mean rating increase. They got a reaction from me, yet I didn't watch the show live because of the Ejami sex, and will continue to not watch live. I'm starting to not even care about DAYS anymore. What a joke these writers are.

It just seems to be a 180 of the talk that was coming from DAYS this past summer about going back basics and resetting the show. Shock value is what we have been subjected to for a long time now and I thought DAYS was getting away from that which is why Higley was fired in the first place but this interview implies MarDar is going for shock value.

These writers have forgotten that tuning out is also a reaction. It's ridiculous that plot point writing has seemingly become the only writing for this show.

I hope they are happy because now I'm just sticking with youtube. Not giving crappy plot point storylines ratings.
