Peachy, He said, "I still need you" *eyeroll*. There was also a moment in the second to last clip that I had to watch twice. Right after she said, "I'll make it worth your while", I thought he quickly said "I love you", but he didn't, he smiled his big ole smile and said "really?" It was cute, but I wanted more -- so much more!

Just watched. Yep. Sucked. Huge. The writing was so thin I could see through it. The best scene was the first one when Nicole admitted her love and EJ looked cut up inside about it. The hug was sweet and lovely. (And notice that was all bc Ari and James rocked that scene in spite of the writers. How often have we seen that?) But then it fell apart. Thanks, writers. [Guess which finger I'm holding up?] I have to say, for all their posing, these writers are not too deep. Whoever wrote the Ejole dialogue for Tuesday needs a crash course in psychology 101. It was so off. It seems they put their better writers on Safe and Will and I'm annoyed that they did. Sami gets to scream to the rafters how very much she loves Rafe and doesn't deserve him. Well, guess what? EJ can and SHOULD have those same feelings with Nicole and be allowed to express them. Wtf is wrong in having two characters say the same thing? EJ needs to voice his guilt trip and not hide behind Johnny. (Which, gee, I tell my man I love him after fighting it for ages and he says: "I'm sorry. All I can think about is my son." Really? Pull the dagger out of Nicole's heart on that one. Again, poor substitution for actual character development, writers. And you don't fool us. We're a well-educated fanbase.) The minute, the millisecond Nicole said she loved EJ, he should have looked as James did (again, a-list non-verbals, James, given the crap they're giving you to say!) -- and then hugged her. THEN... he needed to pull away when Nicole said she was afraid of getting hurt and say -- wait for it -- "I agree with you, Nicole. I'm no good for you." I needed EJ to do the obligatory and very soapy and natural thing by saying: "You were right, Nicole. I have hurt you. And I could hurt you again. I don't deserve you." Yes, then Nicole would try to convince him that she loves him no matter what and gloss over all the bad stuff (thinking it's in the past, which the poor little freshman-level-college-writer tried to do... but failed). Yes, they would have ended by Nicole convincing EJ he's good enough for her and his still feeling wracked with guilt. But the fact they didn't even go there for a single line and have him say: "You're right, Nicole. I am a horrible person." And the fact they had to throw that Ejole moment under the bus to advance the John plot is irksome in the extreme. (Again, we are not an easily fooled or manipulated fanbase. duh!) I mean, I thought I'd had my fill of some of the dialogue writing with all those horrible cliches (even during their great love scenes a week or so ago when they had EJ say: "that was then, this is now." And "been there, done that." I forgave them that banal idiocy because they gave the actors the opportunity to show the real mood of the characters.) Not this time. ERGHHH!! It's just sloppy, juvenile writing. Okay, rant over. BUT.....warning: silver lining. But it's a real silver lining, I swear. It's a GOOD thing EJ didn't say he loved Nicole back right away. Here's why: if he just said he loves her because he's wracked with guilt THAT WOULD SUCK EVEN WORSE. So I know these scenes gave us all a feeling of deja vu and sent us all to our liquor cabinets... BUT I think overall, things will get better. The writing will get better when they pull the spotlight off of Sami and back on Ejole where it belongs. And I think they'll do that. I honestly do. But epic fail on the Tuesday writing, guys. And I HATE that the actor for Will is so amazing that he's making me watch SAMI. I mean, wtf? [bangs head against wall] You said everything I was thinking, Peachy.

I will say though, the clips were better than the recap made it sound. Ari and James gave it extra nuances that only they do so well. I think James was trying everything to to work with the bullshit on the page and give it something extra and he did...the smiles (Oh, his smile when he is looking at her...sigh), the gestures, pulling her close, and that tender kiss. It could not have been more different than the shamefuck. Oh EJ, you have managed the impossible, you have pulled me back in in less than 24 hours. I still haven't forgiven you, but I'm willing to give you a chance...just don't blow it! I was mad and temporarily jumped the track, but I'm back on board...full steam ahead!!!!!!
I tend to agree with the theories out there that this storyline snafu is what caused James to almost walk away from Days. An actor can only take so much when he puts his heart and soul into a role and the writers destroy the character he has built not once (Tayho), but twice now (shamefk). He wouldn't have been the first actor to walk away from a role because of something like that.

Oh EJ, I forgot to at least thank you for sitting on the coffee tabe, and at the fireplace and standing at the desk and chess board. At least you avoided the couch and table with the mirror. Small consolation but that would have sent me over the edge for sure! Now just burn that couch and the suit u had on at the time, thank you .

Peachy, that's exactly how I felt about the scenes and still do now. I'm just tired of one character (Sami) getting the stories that Nicole should be getting. Notice how they have to derail EJole for another one of Sami's stories.
I want MORE than this DAYS!

I think the damn writers spent to many hours working on the dreaded smex scene that they let the amateurs write the day after scripts. That was the worst script writing in a while for Ejole. It totally took their love story that was full of angst, desire and love and made it seem superficial and casual. That's what pissed me off the most. I wish those scenes never happened. I want some damn more remorse from EJ. It's like he's already forgot it when Sami can hardly look at herself as soon as Rafe leaves the room. Where is EJ's crying for hurting Nicole? It damn well better come.

It just breaks my heart. It's us they gave the crumbs to. Was this rewrites? It sounded like we were going to get a lot better scenes that this. Or maybe they just tricked us to get us to watch. I'm so mad I can barely see straight.

These scenes did come off as really awkward but they should be. EJ is preoccupied with what just happened and now here's Nic confessing her love and telling him she doesn't want a divorce. I suppose only time will tell but it seems to me like he wanted to drag Nic over to Sami's so he can parade her around and show Sami how much he cares for her. He didn't want to discuss the topic with Sami for fear that Nic would overhear and as far as the smex goes, he was the one to snap out of it and realize what was happening and put a stop to it. The EJ from summer of '10 and earlier would NEVER have done that. He was completely grossed out by what he had done, and that was BEFORE he even realized there was still a chance with Nic. I have to put my faith in James that EJ loves Nicole. It's the only thing that is going to carry me through all this.

yes! It it's like they threw that scene together and poor Nicole was totally ignored by EJ. The woman told him him she loved him and he was too preoccupied to at least focus on what she was saying. She said it three times and nothing. that was the worst time to screw up the writing for Ejole, absolute worst. oh, james, I sure hope u play Ej as a man in love.

I'm ready to take a break from Days and not come back until EJ professes his love to Nicole. I really can't handle Ejami scenes weather arguing or not

I thought how disrespectful of EJ at that very moment. He had just seen Johnny, it's not like the kid was going to disappear again, not after that hell he cause EVERYBODY, us included. I hated EJ right then but I still really believes he loves her, idiot that he is. When he finally, it better be the most romantic thing to ever play on screens, I will take nothing less.
What I have always hated about EJole is EJ's 'discomfort' with NOT telling Nicole he loves her, really dude what's so difficult about that. Nicole, why oh why is she so quick to take him never telling her he loved her. He was so gung-ho attached to Sami during EJole 1.0 that i have never taken him seriously when he told her loved her. Mind you I do remember when he called Sami in WP, she threw her typical hissy fit about not wanting Nicole around Johnny and EJ was trying to tell her he was finally moving on. He meant it then when she asked him if he loved her. He didn't flinch or pause or anything, but he still didn't say he was in love with her which was the initial question. when I sensed he didn't love her he never hesitated.
This time around, I sense he is uber in love and only NOW he hesitates because it's certainly new territory! Apart from the fact that it could serve that he never really loved Sami/Taylor because he never hesitated with them as in EJole 1.0
But then maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit for adding this layer to EJ. They can't be that smart.

Can't sleep I'm so annoyed. And in rewatching the scenes I guess I'm still in the minority in liking the scene EJ wants to take Nicki to bed. It just didn't come off sexually to me, it came off as a husband telling his wife to call it a day after a long day and go to bed with him because it's their routine. I thought it was sweet. Nicki is the one who turns it sexual by promising to make it up to him later and of course because he's still fascinated and drawn to Nicki physically he changes course. But at first, I thought it was a sweet gesture proving he's including her in his life. He wanted to end his day in bed with his wife.

I just watched the DoD James interview and he says that although physically the smex is considered being unfaithful to both Rafe & Nicole, it was NOT intended to be an emotional affair, hence the lack of 'feeling' during the smex. He says loves her (Nicole), and thinks she is really wonderful especially with his children and talks about the difficulty in coming back from the initial betrayal by Nicole where Sydney is concerned to suddenly have her mean so much to him.
The producers/writers/JS/AS have no intention at the moment to reunite eshami (the meaning in his words). I think for now it's apparent (however vague things are at the moment) that EJole will be happy, until the shit hits the fan but i think by then it will be even more apparent that EJ wants Nicole, it will all depend on whether she forgives him or not.
That will make me sleep better, for sure. All we need is for him to tell Nikki about his regret for the smex and then tell her he loves not in any particular order as long as he's extremely genuine/heartfelt/hones, no subterfuge, more lies and more secrets between them.

For me, the scenes were just plot advancement, unlike last week's EJole scenes which were about emotional searching. I actually thought the worst part about the scenes was Nicole's criticisms of John, which were seriously WTF. I know they lamely tried to have Nicole say "I know I've done some bad things but John is different." I mean, EJ is a selfish prick and I don't think he ever so far has really understood what love is. He would always say it about Sami while treating her like dogshit, he said it about Taylor for no reason--I need to see EJ ACTING like he understands what love is before he says it.
And like I say about plot points, that was all it was: Nicole spills her "revelation," EJ realizes he's got a problem and says but she made him sign divorce papers, they go see Johnny as a lame excuse to put EShami in the same room so they can make an appointment to discuss their mistake later AND so that EJ can show that now things have changed and he has some power back so he can come see his children any time he wants, return to DiMansion where EJ is clearly in a much better and more focused mood until Nicole starts rambling on about John in order to have an excuse to talk about lies, betrayal and fresh starts.
It was lame writing, but it was what it was. It wasn't meant to be something deep, it was meant to show that Nicole thinks they're starting from a place of honesty and EJ has to decide whether to tell her or not. From his perspective I can see why keeping it secret isn't a bad idea--sex so gross that he cried about it and that he doesn't intend to repeat and that happened after she had dumped him doesn't count. Again, EJ is selfish and he's secretive. It has nothing to do with being in love with Sami, a point JS reinforced in the DOD interview.
